Banca Mediolanum Videochat via telephone



Banca Mediolanum announces its recent introduction of the B.Med Chat application into Android Market, allowing customers of the Bank with Android cell phones to communicate with the Banking Center via video chat.

This marks a further enrichment of the banking applications for Android devices. In addition to the information services, such as the balance or statement of transactions, bank orders, such as transfers, cell phone top-ups or trading, and customer service functions, the new features include chat, calling and VoIP video calling functions.

The application identifies the quality of the available signal and automatically proposes the passage to a more optimal type of communication in terms of bandwidth. For example, if the customer attempts a video call but there is little network available, the application proposes a simple VoIP call or, if necessary, a chat session.

This new application represents an ulterior technological component of the multi-channel model that has always distinguished Banca Mediolanum.

"Banca Mediolanum is constantly expanding the channels that can be used to access its home banking service”, says Oscar di Montigny, Marketing Director of the Bank. “From 2007 until today, we have created applications for the major mobile platforms, namely Android, iOS and RIM, and others are in the development phase, because we strongly believe that use of the mobility network will be increasingly intense even in the banking and financial segment and will soon become essential."
