Press Release

Banca Mediolanum expands it day nursery to accommodate 126 It is now the largest in Italy.

Banca Mediolanum is inaugurating the new areas designed and built to accommodate the expansion of Baby Med, the company day nursery, which with this expansion project becomes the largest in Italy.
With an area that has reached 1,000 m2, the bank's structure that for five years has been hosting the children of employees and some residents of Basiglio is capable of caring for 126 children from 3 months to three years of age and is already booked for the next two years.

The company created Baby Med in 2004 to manifest its desire to provide initiatives and services to improve the working atmosphere and quality of life of its employees and collaborators.
Because of its youthful dimension (the average age of employees if 35) and its constant growth, Banca Mediolanum began dealing in 2003 with one of the most sensitive issues of our time, "maternity and career", often a challenge for female employees, especially where the services for pre-school children are of low quality or inconvenient. The creation of a company day nursery less than 50 meters from the bank's head offices seemed the most complete solution and, above all, the most suitable way to ensure a climate of serenity and tranquility for employee-parents, with an evident positive impact on company business.

The wisdom of that decision is demonstrated by the success of Baby Med, which since its opening has been expanded several times to accommodate children on the waiting list. In its first school year, 2004-2005, the Mediolanum day nursery was able to host 60 children but was already overbooked for the following year, so expansion work was begun to increase capacity to 88 children for 2005-2006. A further increase in applications resulted in the launch of a second expansion project, just concluded, that enables Baby Med to accommodate 126 children beginning 5 October 2009.
