Rating
Opinion as to the ability of a company to meet its financial commitments. Produced by independent companies such as Moody's and Standard & Poor's.

Regulatory Authorities
These are the agencies that regulate the Italian stock markets. They comprise the Ministry of the Economy, CONSOB, the Banca d’Italia, ISVAP (the Italian insurance regulatory agency), COVIP (the Italian regulatory agency for pension funds) and the Italian Stock Exchange.

Risk Capital
Capital invested in projects that present considerable risk (eg, financing new companies).

Risk Management
It enables the corporate risk profile to be documented in a tangible form. Risk management is a systematic control process for dealing with and overcoming risks to the company. It is applied at certain times such as awareness of risk, identification of dangers, risk analysis, management and handling of the risk and the control and assessment of risk management policies.

Risk Profile
The risk profile is the attitude of an individual to investments, taking account of objective personal characteristics and subjective behaviour.

ROE (Return on Equity)
Relationship between profit for the financial period and capital. Indicates how much of the risk capital has become net profit.
