“Banca Mediolanum for Emilia” increases the aid offered to customers impacted by the 2012 earthquake to € 2 million
On 5 February, Banca Mediolanum resolved to raise the amount allocated as aid in favour of customers and Family Bankers who suffered damage during the earthquake that hit Emilia Romagna last year to € 2 million.
With this decision, Banca Mediolanum essentially doubled the figure of €1 million earmarked last 21 May, thereby reinforcing its concrete support and highlighting its constant solidarity with respect to its clientele.
In the aftermath of the earthquake in 2012, the following special conditions had been envisaged:
- possibility to suspend payment of mortgage and loan instalments for 12 months;
- 1% reduction in the spread on existing mortgages and loans for 2 years;
- elimination, again for 2 years, of all fees on current accounts, namely the monthly fee, credit and debit card fees, securities deposit fees and all stamp duties on these instruments;
- establishment of mortgage loans at special conditions, with a spread of 2.40%;
- opening of special credit lines at a rate of Euribor +1.50%.
These special financial terms and conditions involve an estimated commitment by Banca Mediolanum of around € 3 million, in terms of lost revenues and higher costs, which in addition to the € 2 million disbursed directly constitutes a total of approximately € 5 million.
