Press Release

Banca Mediolanum for Emilia, helping customers hit by the earthquake

Following the severe earthquake that struck the Emilia Romagna region, Banca Mediolanum has stepped in to help its customers and Family Bankers who suffered damage, donating a sum of at least one million euros.

The method to be adopted in evaluating the damage and determining the amounts of the individual interventions will be communicated once the overall situation is clear.

As for similar events, such as the flooding in Veneto, the flooding in Liguria and Tuscany and the earthquake in Aquila, customers impacted by this catastrophe will also have the possibility to suspend payment of their existing mortgage and loan instalments for one year.

Through initiatives of this type, Banca Mediolanum once again strives to stand alongside its customers and collaborators during their most difficult times. For example, in 2008, the Bank unilaterally reduced the spread on mortgages and intervened in policies with underlying Lehman bonds, avoiding losses for its customers. Furthermore, it established a "Solidarity Fund" for mortgage holders who could no longer pay their instalments due to serious illness or injury.

Banca Mediolanum also announces that it has opened up a special current account to collect donations for the emergency.

Non-customers of the Bank may also donate, using the following coordinates:
