Press Release

Banca Mediolanum at the 87th Giro d’Italia:
offers the Green Jersey during the race for the best uphill rider in the piazzas,
provides entertainment with Giromediolanum

Banca Mediolanum has put itself at the heart of the 87th Giro d’Italia while keeping an eye on the public, especially for those who enjoy both sport and entertainment: it has chosen to be the protagonist both on the roads of the Giro and in the piazzas of Italy. It does it by "dressing" the best uphill rider in the Green Jersey and by putting on the show Giromediolanum.

The Gran Premio della Montagna
The classic for uphill riders is the noblest and oldest after the General, which awards the pink jersey. It was diffidently offered in 1932 but by 1933 Alfredo Binda was already proving a remarkable winner, also winning the "best uphill rider".

The Giromediolanum
There are two distinct parts of the 2004 Giromediolanum: the Giroquiz and the music festival.
The Giroquiz, presented by Simona Tagli and Gianni de Berardinis, with music provided by the "singer of singers" Gigi Vigliani, will invite audience participation through a series of questions on the history of cycling. All answers correctly filled on the cards provided will go into a draw for a Moser bicycle and two Carnielli city bikes, which will be done on the every night by one of the Banca Mediolanum representatives - Francesco Moser, Maurizio Fondriest or Gianni Motta.
The second part is a live show in which Luca Barbarossa, Fausto Leali and Stadio will perform alongside Gigi Vigliani.

Giromediolanum will be held in the piazzas of Genova (7 May), Alba (9 May), Pontremoli (10 May), Porretta Terme (11 May), Civitella in Val di Chiana (12 May), Spoleto (13 May), Valmontone (14 May), Avellino (15 May), Carovigno (17 May), Porto Sant’Elpidio (18 May), Ascoli Piceno (19 May), Cesena (20 May), Treviso (21 May), Trieste (22 May), San Vendemiano (24 May), Sondrio (28 May), Castione (29 May) and Milan (30 May).
Giromediolanum will be shown on Mediolanum Channel (SKY channel 803 ) and broadcast from 10.50 pm the following day.
