Press Release

86th Giro D'Italia
Live, exclusively on Mediolanum Channel - the presentation of the teams

The official presentation of the teams taking part in the Giro d'Italia, scheduled to take place in Lecce's Piazza Duomo at 9 pm on Thursday 8 May, will be broadcast live exclusively on Mediolanum Channel (Gold Box channel 135 ).
The show will be presented by singer-song writer and cycling enthusiast Andrea Mingardi, along with Paola Rota.
But it will be the racers - and their patron Carmine Castellano, together with Francesco Moser and many other great cycling names - who will capture the audience's attention. And not just the Italian audience. Mediolanum Channel (Mediolanum Group's satellite TV channel) broadcasts free-to-air throughout Europe and North Africa. The 86th Giro d'Italia parade will alternate sport - co-ordinated by the Gazzetta dello Sport - with entertainment, provided by an international company that will present well-loved music, and by Erix Logan, the illusionist well-known to Saturday evening RaiUno viewers. Interviews with the racers will be conducted by Andrea Mingardi.
The Thursday evening show will offer all cycling enthusiasts the chance to see all their favourites who will come on stage to be presented in a new way: the leading contenders will talk about their hopes and aspirations for the most important staged race in Italy.
On Thursday evening there will be talk about competing, the great challenges and the prizes: those for the racers include the Green Jersey for the Gran Premio della Montagna, sponsored by Banca Mediolanum, and those for best German racer (Bankhaus August Lenz) and best Spanish racer in the general classification after the arrival in Milan (Fibanc).
During the Giro d'Italia, Banca Mediolanum is organising eight shows in some of the arrival cities of the Corsa Rosa. Giromediolanum also has prizes for the public: the "Fortuna è in Giro" competition will be offering a Mazda car, and the "Fausto & Gino" quiz presented by Gianni Deberardinis, Paola Rota and Gigi Vigliani has a Moser M73 bicycle as its prize.
Through a co-marketing agreement, Mazda Italia is supporting Banca Mediolanum's participation in the Giro convoy by making available special fitted-out Mazda cars.
